2026 Art Show Schedule
| Month | Show Name / Artist and / or Group | Opening Party |
|---|---|---|
| March & April | Resilient Hands: LonniRae Jones SkyArtworks opens the 2026 season with Resilient Hands, a featured exhibition celebrating the creative journey of LonniRae Jones. Spanning decades of artistic exploration, this show highlights LonniRae’s use of texture, color, process, and personal expression. Her work reflects a lifetime of making, learning, experimenting, and responding to the world through art. This exhibition honors the hands-on nature of creativity—the patience, persistence, and imagination that shape an artist’s life and body of work. | March 7 • 4pm (under 21) / 5pm (21+) |
| May & June | Woodland Creatures Step into the forest and meet the creatures who live there—real, imagined, mysterious, magical, and maybe just a little bit mischievous. Woodland Creatures invites artists to explore animals, forest spirits, masks, folklore, costumes, natural materials, and the quirky magic of the woods. This playful exhibition ties into this year’s Tunnel Days theme and encourages artwork that feels whimsical, earthy, enchanted, and full of personality. We welcome painting, sculpture, fiber, mixed media, wearable art, found-object work, and creative interpretations of woodland life. | May 9 • 4pm (under 21) / 5pm (21+) |
| July 30 to August 2 | Super Natural Please join us for our annual Electric Sky, an art and tech weekend retreat Thursday July 30th through Sunday August 2nd, 2026. Electric Sky brings together artists, makers, technologists, designers and friends to collaboratively engage with the environment in new and exciting ways. Come for the full camping retreat, or just the art show and party on Saturday, August 1st, 2026. Our theme this year Super Natural — where you will venture beyond the familiar, and explore what lies just beyond your perception! | Saturday, August 1st, 2026 |
| July & August | Take Flight Summer is the season of movement, adventure, and open skies. Take Flight celebrates artwork inspired by wings, birds, insects, clouds, wind, aviation, migration, dreams, and the feeling of lifting off into something new. Artists are invited to interpret the theme literally or abstractly—from delicate feathers and soaring landscapes to kites, flying machines, imaginative creatures, or the emotional sense of freedom and escape. This exhibition welcomes work that feels light, bold, airy, energetic, or full of motion. | July 11 • 4pm (under 21) / 5pm (21+) |
| September & October | Fall into Abstract As the season shifts, Fall Into Abstract invites artists to let go of the literal and explore color, shape, texture, movement, rhythm, and mood. This exhibition celebrates abstraction in all its forms—from bold expressive work to quiet, atmospheric pieces. Artists are encouraged to experiment with pattern, layered surfaces, unexpected materials, emotional landscapes, and personal interpretation. Work does not need to represent a specific subject; instead, this show invites artists and viewers to experience art through feeling, form, and imagination. | September 12 • 4pm (under 21) / 5pm (21+) |
| November & December | Echoes of Light 2.0 As winter settles over the mountains and daylight grows short, Echoes of Light 2.0 returns to illuminate the season with creativity, atmosphere, and wonder. This exhibition celebrates artistic uses of light in all its forms—from glowing installations and illuminated sculpture to projection art, reflective surfaces, lanterns, lamps, and works that explore light as both medium and metaphor. We invite artists to experiment with brightness, shadow, color, movement, reflection, transparency, warmth, and mood. Indoor and outdoor light-based works are encouraged to help transform the gallery into a welcoming winter experience and bring energy, beauty, and delight to downtown Skykomish during the darkest months of the year. | November 7 • 4pm (under 21) / 5pm (21+) |
