2025 Art Show Schedule

March 1 to April 27March-April, The Art of Beanne Hull
Beanne Hull was a founding member of Sky Artworks, whose leadership in the arts brought her special brand of creativity to Skykomish for the past two decades.  Beanne was an artist, designer, and teacher.  She studied graphic design at the University of Cape Town, and painting and printmaking at Cornish College of the Arts, where she continued as an art instructor for many years. With this show we celebrate both her art and her love of the natural environment, featuring both original works and prints.
Saturday, March 1st • 4pm (under 21) / 5pm (21+)
May 3 to June 29May-June, Earthworks
For Earth Day month, we turn our attention to all the wonderful materials for art provided by earth itself. We will focus on the arts that use natural materials such as clay, rocks, soil, vegetation, and water, or art that is created in the landscape by directly sculpting natural materials on or in the land.
Saturday, June 7th • 4pm (under 21) / 5pm (21+)

Electric Sky: Movin’ It (Skykomish Ballpark)
Electric Sky is a long weekend retreat bringing together creative people across the Pacific Northwest to learn, make, and collaborate in the mountains around a theme, ending in a pop-up art show open to the public out in the woods on Saturday night, June 14th. This year, our theme is Kinetic art — that is, art that moves in some form. Immerse yourself in learning and collaboration for the long weekend (Thurs-Sun, June 12th-15th) or just come for the art show on Saturday evening, June 14th. Registration is required for overnight camping or the workshops.

July 5 to August 31July-August, Open Sky
Late summer in the Upper Sky Valley is the peak season for folks visiting the area to enjoy all that the mountains have to offer, including hikers on the world renowned Pacific Crest Trail. It’s also the season to get outside into nature with your art endeavors, and be inspired by the beauty of summer. This show celebrates all the ways we creatively engage with our surrounding natural environment as we enjoy the outdoors, ranging from geocaching to photography to plein air painting. “Hiker Art” in particular is encouraged.
Saturday,
July 5th

September 6
to October 26
September-October, Myth, Memory & the Forest
Step into the shadowed forest, where memory tangles with myth and every tree could be a witness. Our fall exhibition explores the mysterious space between the known and the imagined—stories whispered beneath branches, ancestral echoes, forest spirits, and the flicker of something just out of sight.
In celebration of the Halloween season, Myth, Memory & the Forest invites artists to explore folklore, transformation, the supernatural, and personal or cultural mythologies rooted in nature. Whether quiet or eerie, reverent or playful, the works in this show will stir curiosity and evoke the stories we carry through time and place.
Saturday, September 6 • 4pm (under 21) / 5pm (21+)
November 1 to December 28November–December, Light Art
As the nights become long over winter months, the creative uses of light can bring real delight. With this show, we seek art that uses light in creative ways, including light art, lamps, video and projection, lighting in painting, and so forth. This show will include outdoor light art installations to bring cheer outdoors.
Saturday, November 1st 4pm (under 21) / 5pm (21+)
