March 1 to April 27March-AprilThe Art of Beanne Hull
Beanne Hull was a founding member of Sky Artworks, whose leadership in the arts brought her special brand of creativity to Skykomish for the past two decades.  Beanne was an artist, designer, and teacher.  She studied graphic design at the University of Cape Town, and painting and printmaking at Cornish College of the Arts, where she continued as an art instructor for many years. With this show we celebrate both her art and her love of the natural environment, featuring both original works and prints.

We will focus on the arts that use natural materials such as clay, rocks, soil, vegetation, and water, or art that is created in the landscape by directly sculpting natural materials on or in the land.

Electric Sky: Movin’ It (Skykomish Ballpark)
Electric Sky is a long weekend retreat bringing together creative people across the Pacific Northwest to learn, make, and collaborate in the mountains around a theme, ending in a pop-up art show open to the public out in the woods on Saturday night, June 14th. This year, our theme is Kinetic art — that is, art that moves in some form. Immerse yourself in learning and collaboration for the long weekend (Thurs-Sun, June 12th-15th) or just come for the art show on Saturday evening, June 14th. Registration is required for overnight camping or the workshops.

This show celebrates all the ways we creatively engage with our surrounding natural environment as we enjoy the outdoors, ranging from geocaching to photography to plein air painting. “Hiker Art” in particular is encouraged.
